Welcome a new LifeGroup Session!

Before we jump into our study let's take a moment to remember.... There are three things we want to see happen weekly in every LifeGroup!

  • Movement towards Each Other
  • Movement towards God
  • Movement towards our Community

Our format is set up that way. All of the questions and discussion are designed towards movement. We hope you enjoy your time together in your LifeGroup.

Hebrews 10:24-25
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

***Remember our goal is to deepen our relationship with Jesus and with each other.
Use the questions that are helpful for your LifeGroup and skip the rest!

Last Week: (this is where the challenge will go from the previous week's discussion)

Movement Towards Each Other  (know the people in your group)

What was it like your first day of High School being on a new campus around new people?

Describe some of the emotions that go with being "the new person"

In our group tonight, we want to take an opportunity to get to know each other. This can be a little scary, especially the first night. So let's make this easy.

If you could pick one thing to eat for an entire day, with no opportunity to be sick or gain weight, what would you choose?

What are a few words you would use to describe yourself?

Movement Towards God (grow in your relationship with God)

Welcome to LifeGroups: It can be a little scary, perhaps even awkward. Don't worry, we are on this journey together. Let God speak into your heart and take the steps He is leading you to take. Deep breath. Ready? Here we go...

Each time we get together, we are going to be challenged to move forward, relationally, towards God and towards our community (changes in my life impacting others).

Which of these three areas sounds most appealing to you?

Which area do you think is going to be the most challenging?

Read Hebrews 10:24-25

What jumps out at you?

How are you motivated to move forward in your life?

What does encouragement look like for you?

The verse speaks of us helping each other move forward. To stir one another on towards something. One of the ways we can do that is through our group covenant. We wanted to take a few minutes and explain what our group will look like over the next 12 weeks (talk about the group expectation here - separate sheet). We are making a commitment to each other for movement in our lives over the next 12 weeks.

As you think about these three areas (each other, God & community), what is one way this group can pray for you?

Movement Towards Your Community (apply what you've learned in your life)
*James tells us that faith without works is dead. Are you willing this week to take a step towards applying these truths to your everyday life?

There will be a challenge each time we meet to apply what we have learned. To do something. We call it, movement.

Ask God this week for movement in your life. Ask Him for clear direction as you get involved with your LifeGroup over the next 12 weeks.

Verse for the week: Hebrews 10:24-25

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

Prayer Requests -

Is there anything that we can pray about as a group this week for you? (Have someone write them down. You will probably pray the first time & you don't need to go through them all, especially if praying out loud like this will make you nervous.)
