Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session! 

Before we jump into our study, let’s remember three goals of every LifeGroup gathering:  – Grow with Each Other (know each other better)  – Grow Closer to God (know God better)  – Grow Deeper in Life (live by faith better) 

All of the questions are designed to lead us in spiritual and relational growth. The goal is to deepen our relationships with God and one another, and learn to live by faith better in the process.

THIS WEEK: Avoiding Deconstruction

Grow with Each Other  

  • How does focusing on the return of Christ motivate you in faith?  
  • How has it been difficult to stay focused on your faith and not get diverted?  
  • What has encouraged you to walk in faith versus walking away?  

Grow Closer to God  
  • READ 1 John 2:18-19; 2 Thessalonians 2:3-8  
  • What does the warning of being in the last days teach you about who God is and what He promises?  
  • What does this knowledge about the antichrist teach you about your own walk with the Lord?  
  • READ 1 John 2:20-23  
  • How can we know that we are anointed, or set apart by, the Holy Spirit? Why is this important?
  • How can we know if someone is not anointed by the Holy Spirit? Why is this important?  
  • What does it teach you about God that we are to know the difference?  
  • READ 1 John 2:24-29 
  •  What is the difference between deconstructing faith and deconstructing religion? 
  • How can we be careful not to deconstruct our faith?  
  • What does it mean to be consistently filled with the Holy Spirit? Why is this important?  

Grow Deeper in Life  
  • What steps do you need to take or changes do you need to make so that you are not easily led astray by lies?  
  • How are you not living consistently filled by the Holy Spirit? How can you take steps to change that this week?  
  • What truth would you share with someone who is struggling with a deconstruction of their faith?
