Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!

Before we jump into our study, let's take a moment to remember that there are THREE things we want to see happen every time our LifeGroups gather:

Movement towards Each Other
Movement towards God
Movement towards our Community

Our questions follow this same format. All of the questions are designed towards movement. We hope you enjoy your time together in your LifeGroup.
**Remember, our goal is to deepen our relationship with Jesus and each other. Use the questions that are help and skip the rest.

CURRENT SERIES: Better Than Happy

All of us wish for happiness. Some people look to their friends, family, and finances to find it. Some devote their search for happiness in food, clothes, toys, and new things. But happiness is a lot like the cold air we exhale in the winter – it’s here and quickly disappears. God has something better in mind than a search for happiness. It’s called JOY.

Last Week:
Take some of the ideas about "being second" and apply them this week, especially to those difficult people in our life.

Two Weeks Ago:
What are your current "chains"? How can you choose to handle them in Christ this week?

Key Verse:  “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

Movement Towards Each Other (know the people in your group)
If you could relive one moment in your life what would it be?

Movement Towards God (grow in your relationship with God)
What do you want to be remembered for?
What do you think you will be remembered for?
What does the word "regret" mean to you?
Do you think everyone has regrets?
What do you think are some of the common big regrets in people's lives?
Do you think everyone handles them the same way? Why?
When it comes to dealing with regret, it is easier to deal with something you have done or something that was done to you? Explain
Read Psalm 38:4
How would you tell someone to get past their regret?
At what point are you able to change what happened in the past?
Then why do we keep beating ourselves up when we can't change what happened?
Read 1 John 1:9; Isaiah 43:25; Psalm 103:12
How do we know God has forgiven us?
How do we live like God has forgiven us?
When it comes to regret, what can we change?
Does forgiveness from God mean there are no consequences for our actions?
Read Joel 2:25; Romans 8:28
What do these passages say about our past?
Who wants us to live in the shame and regret of our past?
How do we move past it?
When it comes to things in our past that we regret, is our story over or just a chapter in our story?
Read Romans 8:28 out loud together as a group.
It's time to move past our past

Movement Towards Community (they see the change in you)
What are the regrets that keep you awake at night?
Memorize Romans 8:28 and when those thoughts come in your head, quote this verse.
