Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!

Before we jump into our study, let's take a moment to remember that there are THREE things we want to see happen every time our LifeGroups gather:

Movement towards Each Other
Movement towards God
Movement towards our Community

Our questions follow this same format. All of the questions are designed towards movement. We hope you enjoy your time together in your LifeGroup.
**Remember, our goal is to deepen our relationship with Jesus and each other. Use the questions that are help and skip the rest.

Money. All of us have some. Have you ever wondered why? Of all the things God gives us, how does money fit into His Plan for my life? Join us for a three week journey that will answer that very question.

Last Week:
If you are not tithing, start and see what God does for the next three months - keep a journal.
If you are tithing, increase it and see what God does for the next three months - keep a journal.

Two Weeks Ago:
Are there patterns of frustration in your life, difficulties you relive?
Spend some time in Galatians 5:22-23. Is there something God wants to give you that perhaps you are resisting?

Key Verse: “So now finish doing it as well, so that your readiness in desiring it may be matched by your completing it out of what you have.” 2 Corinthians 8:11

Movement Towards Each Other (know the people in your group)
What is the last thing you gave to someone?

Movement Towards God (grow in your relationship with God)
Have you ever been to a third world country or seen poverty?
What was it like?
Was anyone happy? Explain.
When you left that situation, how did it make you feel about your own life?
When is the last time someone was generous with you?
Was it difficult to receive someone's generosity? Explain.
Would you rather have generosity come from a stranger or someone you know? Explain
Would you say that you know more people that have more "stuff" than you or more people that have less "stuff" than you?
What is the scale you use to base your answer (i.e. $$$, cars, houses, vacations, etc)?
Read Mark 6:34-38
What was the disciples biggest concern?
What does it mean to live with a lens of scarcity vs a lens of abundance?
Read 2 Corinthians 8:2-4, 12
How could the Macedonians be begging to give when they were experiencing "extreme poverty"?Would you agree that all of us have something?
Which is an easier perspective to have, scarcity or abundance?
Why is it easier to say I will be generous when I have more .... to give?
How can we give to others out of what we have now versus what we hope to have "someday"?
Read Malachi 3:10
What is the perspective in that verse when we read it through the lens of abundance vs scarcity?
What are ways that you and I can be generous with what we have (non financial or financial) right now?
What is one way this week you can be irrationally generous?

Movement Towards Community (they see the change in you)
Be generous this week, in some way, with some person. It doesn't need to be financial although it can, but look for a way to be generous.
