Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!

Before we jump into our study, let's take a moment to remember that there are THREE things we want to see happen every time our LifeGroups gather:

Movement towards Each Other
Movement towards God
Movement towards our Community

Our questions follow this same format. All of the questions are designed towards movement. We hope you enjoy your time together in your LifeGroup.
**Remember, our goal is to deepen our relationship with Jesus and each other. Use the questions that are help and skip the rest.

Faith. It's this essential thing that we need to have in order to survive day to day living. We place faith in lots of things, some good, some bad. But the faith that matters most, and honestly the one we wrestle with most often, is our faith in God. In this seven week series we will do a character study of some real life characters in the Bible. Their faith in God will give us confidence to increase our faith in Him.

Last Week:
Spend some time reading Luke 7:1-10 and James 2:18-26 this week.
What are some ways that you can be acting out your faith in your community (where you live, work, etc.)? Come back with an answer the next time we meet.

Two Weeks Ago:
Memorize Hebrews 11:1
Where is God exercising your faith muscles? Where can you lean into your faith in God? Next time we meet share where/what God is doing in your life.

Key Verse:
“When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask what I shall do for you, before I am taken from you.” And Elisha said, “Please let there be a double portion of your spirit on me.”” 2 Kings 2:9

Movement Towards Each Other (know the people in your group)
Who you told about Food Truck Sunday?

Movement Towards God (grow in your relationship with God)
Have you ever had a mentor in your life?
What were/are some of their characteristics?
Would you say they are/have been a blessing in your life?
Read 2 Kings 2:9
Do you have a difficult time asking for God's blessing in your life?
What does God's blessing look like?
What does it mean to have God's blessing in your life?
Why is obedience key?
Is God's blessing from obedience a type of "reward"?
Read James 4:2-3; 1 Chronicles 4:9-10
What is the difference between praying boldly and praying selfishly?
What would be a bold prayer for you to ask God to do?
How does that increase our faith?
Why are we reluctant to pray/ask God for bold things?
Read Matthew 7:7; Jeremiah 29:11
How do you define your community?
Of all the people in the world, why do you think God chose you to be around those people?
Read 2 Kings 2:9-15
What was Elisha's request?
What was God's answer?
What is a bold request you NEED to ask God about your community (in your world)?
What is preventing you from asking?

Movement Towards Community (they see the change in you)
Commit to a month of asking God for a bold faith request. Maybe it's in your own life. Maybe it's in your "community". Ask, Seek, Knock.
