iMarriage-Week 3-iForgive 5/7/17

Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!

Before we jump into our study let's take a moment to remember...There are three things we want to see happen every time our LifeGroups gather.

  • Movement towards Each Other
  • Movement towards God
  • Movement towards our Community

Our format is up that way.  All of the questions and discussions are designed towards movement.  We hope you enjoy your time together in your LifeGroup.

***Remember, our goal is to deepen our relationship with Jesus and each other.  Use the questions that are helpful for your LifeGroup and skip the rest!

Current Series: iMarriage

A marriage will spin out of control when our perspective in our marriage is primarily on us.  Don't have a marriage reality with a singles mentality.

Last Week:  (accountability for the growth challenge last time we met)

Last week:

Read Philippians 2:3-7 every day this week when you first wake up.  Ask yourself each day, "What is one way that I can put (insert name) ahead of my own desires today?"

Two weeks ago:

If you are married: every day find one way to serve your spouse.

If you are single: every day find one way for you to serve a friend, neighbor, co-worker, etc.

Key Verse - Ephesians 4:32

"Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you."

Movement Towards Each Other (know the people in your group)

What is your biggest pet peeve?

  • What is the most difficult part of forgiving someone else?

  • Read Ephesians 4:32.
  • What is the medicine for bitterness?
  • Read Colossians 3:12-13.
  • How does it work?
  • How do you keep the "I'm offended" list short in marriage?
  • What happens when you chose not to forgive?
  • Read Matthew 18:23-25.
  • As a Christian, what have  you been forgiven?
  • As a human being, why can it be so difficult to extend forgiveness to someone else?
  • Is forgiveness a one time event?
  • What do you do when you have truly extended forgiveness to someone, but the thought of what happened pops into your head?
  • Read Ephesians 4:32 again.
  • Is there forgiveness you need to extend to someone?
  • What would it look like if you did?

Memorize Ephesians 4:32

Ask God if there is someone you need to forgive and/or ask someone to forgive you.
