iMarriage-Week 4-iProtect

Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!

Before we jump into our study let's take a moment to remember.....There are three things we want to see happen every time our LifeGroups gather.

  • Movement towards Each Other
  • Movement towards God
  • Movement towards our Community

Our format is up that way.  All of the questions are designed towards movement.  We hope you enjoy your time together in your LifeGroup.

***Remember, our goal is to deepen our relationship with Jesus and each other.  Use the questions that are helpful for your LifeGroup and skip the rest!

Current Series: iMarriage

A marriage will spin out of control when our perspective in our marriage is primarily on us.  Don't have a marriage reality with a single's mentality.

Last Week: (accountability for the growth challenge last time we met)

Last week:

Memorize Ephesians 4:32

Ask God if there is someone you need to forgive and/or ask someone to forgive you.

Two weeks ago:

Read Philippians 2:3-7 every day this week when you first wake up.  Ask yourself each day, "What is one way that I can put (insert name) ahead of my own desires today?"

Key Verse: Song of Solomon 2:15

"Catch the foxes for us, the little foxes that spoil the vineyards, for our vineyards are in blossom."

Movement Towards Each Other (know the people in your group)

What is one thing in your life that you protect?

Movement Towards God (grow in your relationship with God)

How many pets have you had in your life?

Can you recite all their "names"?

Which was your favorite? Explain.

What is one pet you would never want to have? Explain.

Read Song of Solomon 2:15

Describe the characteristics of a fox.

If you saw it in the wild, would it cause you fear? Explain.

What is an animal that would strike fear if you saw it in the wild?

What is the difference?

Why do you think Solomon chose this animal for this verse?

What are some "foxes" that might appear in a marriage?

Does the fox care whether the vineyards are new or old?

So what is the advice for the person who owns the vineyard?

Read Hebrews 12:1; Galatians 5:7-9.

At what point do the little things become big things?

How should you approach them?

Read John 10:10; 1 Peter 5:8

If Satan approached us like he is portrayed in these verses, would it be easier to see it coming? Explain.

Does Satan want marriages to thrive? Why?

Read Song of Solomon 2:8-14.

Whether you are married or not, how do you protect a marriage?

What are some of the things you did to "woo" your spouse?

Describe Romance.

No matter what stage of the "vineyard", what are some practical things people can do to foster that word in marriage?

If married, be romantic this week.

If you are single, find a marriage you admire and thank them for hanging in there.
