Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!

Before we jump into our study, let's take a moment to remember that there are THREE things we want to see happen every time our LifeGroups gather:

Movement towards Each Other
Movement towards God
Movement towards our Community

Our questions follow this same format. All of the questions are designed towards movement. We hope you enjoy your time together in your LifeGroup.
**Remember, our goal is to deepen our relationship with Jesus and each other. Use the questions that are help and skip the rest.

Good news travels fast. In the book of Acts, Jesus launched His church and set a fire of hope that has continued to burn for centuries. Through the church, the gospel is the hope of the world and is unstoppable. God will continue to use His people to build His church until Jesus returns. His Church will never stop because He will never stop.

Last Week:
Ask God for opportunities to boldly live out your faith this week and then thank Him when He answers your prayers. Come back and share what happened.

Two Weeks Ago:
Memorize Galatians 5:22-23
Where do you need to allow God’s power in your life?

Key Verse:

“So in the present case I tell you, keep away from these men and let them alone, for if this plan or this undertaking is of man, it will fail; 39 but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them… ” Acts 5:38–39

Movement Towards Each Other (know the people in your group)
If you had to root for a college team (any sport) who would it be?

Movement Towards God (grow in your relationship with God)
Did you ever join a team when you were a kid?
What was your favorite part of being on that team?
Have you ever played for a championship? Did your school?
What is it about being a part of a team or group that makes us feel a part of something larger than ourselves?
Read Acts 5:17-21, 33
What was God asking them to do? Why?
How did the religious leaders feel about that?
Read Acts 5:35-39
What was the “have to have” toy or trend when you were a kid?
What do we know about mankind’s trends and appetites?
Read Genesis 1:1,26-27; John 3:16-17
How do we know that God’s plan won’t fail?
What does it mean to be a follower of Jesus?
Read Matthew 16:15-18
For those who follow Jesus, how are they a part of the “team”?
Read 1 Corinthians 12:12, 17-20
What part of your body do you think about the least? Why?
What would happen for you to start thinking about it a lot?
What do you think is a really important part of a local church?
How often do you think about it?
What is ongoing thing at church that you don’t really think about until you show up one Sunday and it isn’t working?
How are you vital to the local church?
Read Matthew 5:14-16
Name two people who are in your “community” who don’t go to church/follow Jesus.
Why do you think God has placed them in your life?
Why is it important for us to be “connected” to our community (the people around us who don’t know Jesus)?

Movement Towards Community (they see the change in you)
Two questions: Where are you involved in the local church? to whom are you connected in your community? Pray about those questions and answers this next week.

Help us spread the word about our Community Tree Lighting Event on 11/25. Get a flyer from the GS Counter on Sunday and post it somewhere in your community.
