Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!

Before we jump into our study, let's take a moment to remember that there are THREE things we want to see happen every time our LifeGroups gather:

Movement towards Each Other
Movement towards God
Movement towards our Community

Our questions follow this same format. All of the questions are designed towards movement. We hope you enjoy your time together in your LifeGroup.
**Remember, our goal is to deepen our relationship with Jesus and each other. Use the questions that are help and skip the rest.

CURRENT SERIES: Knowing Jesus

The book of Colossians is the richest New Testament book that describes the supremacy of Jesus Christ. Once Paul lays the foundation, the book concludes with how followers are to live their life upon this foundation.

Last Week:
We can live differently because of Christ. How can we show that this week in our daily lives? Report back the next time we meet.

Two Weeks Ago:
How can you live out your faith/hope this week? Will you do it?

Key Verse:

giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.” Colossians 1:12

Movement Towards Each Other (know the people in your group)
What is something that you are really good at doing?

Movement Towards God (grow in your relationship with God)
Do you have siblings?
Where do you fall in the birth order?
What are some of the advantages/disadvantages of your birth order?
Is there some natural respect that comes with your “position” in your family?
What are some examples of positions in society that come/should come with respect/honor?
Have we seen a shift in society where we no longer respect/honor certain positions?
How did that happen?
What about in the family?
Is it possible to respect the position and not the person? How?
Is it easier when the person in the position acts/meet the standard that is due the position they hold?
Read Colossians 1:15-20
Who is Jesus?
Read that passage again but this time, after each verse state what impresses/stands out to you about who Jesus really is?
Now go back one more time and read this passage, but ask yourself this question “What would the world be like if there was no Jesus?”.
Do you think He is held in high regard in our world? Why?
How could Jesus be used as a curse word and also be all the things stated in Scripture?
How do you and I influence impact how the world views Jesus?
Read Colossians 1:21-23
What has Jesus done for you and me?
On Facebook there is a before and after picture challenge. Based on this passage, what is the before and after of mankind once Jesus gets involved?
Final question: Who is Jesus to you, really?
Challenge: Close in prayer and have everyone pray and thank Jesus for something He is/has done in your life.

Movement Towards Community (they see the change in you)
Spend this week thanking Jesus for who He is and what He has done for you.
Do my day to day actions reflect that to a world that doesn’t yet know Him?
