Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!

Before we jump into our study, let's take a moment to remember that there are THREE things we want to see happen every time our LifeGroups gather:

Movement towards Each Other
Movement towards God
Movement towards our Community

Our questions follow this same format. All of the questions are designed towards movement. We hope you enjoy your time together in your LifeGroup.
**Remember, our goal is to deepen our relationship with Jesus and each other. Use the questions that are help and skip the rest.

The book of Colossians is the richest New Testament book that describes the supremacy of Jesus Christ. Once Paul lays the foundation, the book concludes with how followers are to live their life upon this foundation.

Last Week:
Memorize Colossians 3:2
Who is the person that checks in on your walk with God? If you don’t have one, find one. If you do, send them a note of thanks.

Two Weeks Ago:
Are there areas in your life where you are choosing slavery over the freedom you have in Christ?
Talk to God about that this week and embrace the freedom you already have been given.

Key Verse:

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly…” Colossians 3:16

Movement Towards Each Other (know the people in your group)
What is the last new thing you purchased?

Movement Towards God (grow in your relationship with God)
If you could change one things about yourself what would it be?
How would you have answered that question in High School?
How are your answers different?
What are things we like to change?
What are things we struggle to change?
If we are open to change, what is the struggle to change the things we need to change?
Read Colossians 3:8-11
Which of these is easier for you to “put off”? How come?
In the context of these verses, what is the difference between putting on something and putting away something?
How do we do it?
Do we have to keep going back to the things that we should stop doing?
So why do we do it?
Read Colossians 3:11-14
Which of these is harder to start doing?
Is there a downside to start putting these things on?
What is the difference between saying “I’m Sorry” and “Will you forgive me?”?
What does it mean to forgive as God has forgiven you?
Read Colossians 3:16; Philippians 4:7; Exodus 14:14
What does it mean to let peace rule in your heart?
Where does that “peace” come from?
Why is that important?
What happens when we try to take control of the situation?
Read Colossians 3:16
How does God’s Word in us help us with everything we discussed tonight?
What is one verse you use on a regular basis to help you?

Movement Towards Community (they see the change in you)
