Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!

Before we jump into our study, let's take a moment to remember that there are THREE things we want to see happen every time our LifeGroups gather:

Movement towards Each Other
Movement towards God
Movement towards our Community

Our questions follow this same format. All of the questions are designed towards movement. We hope you enjoy your time together in your LifeGroup.
**Remember, our goal is to deepen our relationship with Jesus and each other. Use the questions that are help and skip the rest.

The book of Colossians is the richest New Testament book that describes the supremacy of Jesus Christ. Once Paul lays the foundation, the book concludes with how followers are to live their life upon this foundation.

Last Week:
To women - what is one way you can show respect to your husband/or boss every day this week?
To men - pray for your wife / someone who is in authority over you every day this week.

Two Weeks Ago:
Memorize a new verse before we come back as a LifeGroup

Key Verse:

Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.” Colossians 3:19

Movement Towards Each Other (know the people in your group)
What is your favorite food?

Movement Towards God (grow in your relationship with God)
What does it mean to love something?
Can you love food, a movie and a person the same way?
What’s the difference?
What makes love different than every other emotion you can feel towards someone?
Is love conditional? Explain
Read Ephesians 5:25, 33 and John 3:16
The same word for love is used in all these verses. How is God asking husbands to love their wives?
Are husbands supposed to love their wives they way they receive love or the way their wives receive love? Why?
What if their wives treat their husbands poorly, is there a get out of love clause? Why?
Read Colossians 3:19; Ephesians 4:31-32
What does it mean to become bitter?
What is the danger of having that enter into a marriage relationship?
How do you get past bitterness?
Read 1 Peter 3:7; Colossians 3:19; Ephesians 5:25
*Heads up - weaker vessel means to hold something in high esteem like fine china that is cherished, not a paper plate that can’t handle anything*
What does it mean to be “understanding” (in general - not just to wives)?
How does love and understanding work together?
Are the men supposed to become mind readers of their wives thoughts? Then how does that work?
What’s the warning issued in 1 Peter 3:7?
Is “love your wives” a one size fits all command for husbands? Explain
How do you learn how to love your wife?
Read Ephesians 5:33
How has God designed the marriage relationship to work?
When both husbands and wives are focussed on their roles, what does marriage look like?

Movement Towards Community (they see the change in you)
To women - pray for your husband/ someone who is in authority over you every day this week
To men - what is one way you can show love to your wife/or a family member every day this week?

Easter is about a month away. Who are you praying for to invite to church?
