Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session! 

Before we jump into our study, let’s remember three goals of every LifeGroup gathering:  – Grow with Each Other (know each other better)  – Grow Closer to God (know God better)  – Grow Deeper in Life (live by faith better) 

All of the questions are designed to lead us in spiritual and relational growth. The goal is to deepen our relationships with God and one another, and learn to live by faith better in the process.

Grow with Each Other 

  •  How would you describe a healthy relationship with your parents?  
  • What are ways your family can make you feel loved and valued as a member of the family? 
  •  What easily identifies you as part of your family?  

Grow Closer to God  
  • READ 1 John 3:1-2; John 1:12-13  
  • What does it mean to be a child of God? 
  • How does this impact your relationship with God?  
  • What is the difference between knowing about and believing in Jesus? Explain.  
  • What does it teach you about God that you don’t need to prove yourself to Him as His child? 
  • What does it mean to you that you are deeply known by God?  
  • How does it encourage you in your faith that when Christ returns we will be made like Him?  
  • READ 1 John 3:3  
  • If you have hope in Jesus, how are you called to live differently than before knowing Him?  
  • What does it mean to strive for purity as the Lord is pure? 
  • How does striving for purity impact your personal relationship with the Lord?  
  • READ 1 John 3:4-9  
  • What is the difference between habitually sinning and occasionally stumbling? Why is this important?  
  • How can making a habit of doing what is right impact your relationship with sin?  
  • How has God been changing your habits since placing your faith in Him?  
  • READ 1 John 3:10  
  • Why is it important to know how to identify a child of God?  
  • How can you live securely in your identity as a child of God?

  • In what ways has God been convicting you to purify yourself? How can we encourage you?  
  • How can you be more confident in your identity as a child of God?  
  • What habits might God be directing you to be more mindful of and intentional about?
